Jim Corbett draws a specific kind of traveller from Delhi NCR. Here is who books this route with us and what they need from the journey.
Wildlife Enthusiasts
Safari Travellers & Wildlife Photographers
Jim Corbett is India’s oldest national park and the best tiger reserve in North India for sighting probability. A private car from Delhi means you arrive at the safari zone before the afternoon entry time — not scrambling for a cab after a delayed shared transfer.
Families
Families Travelling with Children
We use spacious Innova Crystas and SUVs for family trips. A five-hour drive to Ramnagar is more comfortable in a private vehicle where children can sleep en route and the departure time is yours to set — not fixed by a shared cab schedule.
Couples
Couples & Weekend Getaways
Corbett’s jungle lodges are among North India’s most atmospheric weekend stays. A private car from Delhi or Gurgaon means you leave when you want, stop for tea at Moradabad if you like, and arrive at your lodge without the friction of coordinating shared transport.
Corporate
Corporate Offsites & Team Retreats
Jungle lodges in the Corbett buffer zone are increasingly popular for corporate offsites. We coordinate multi-vehicle departures from different Delhi NCR addresses, synced arrival times, and GST-compliant invoicing for the full trip.
International Tourists
International Visitors on Wildlife Circuits
Foreign travellers visiting India specifically for wildlife often combine Corbett with Ranthambore or Kanha. Our chauffeurs are experienced on the Delhi–Ramnagar corridor and know the lodge access roads, forest entry checkpoints, and how to time the drive around safari booking slots.
Solo Travellers
Solo Travellers
We value the safety of our travellers, especially those travelling alone. All our chauffeurs undergo background checks and trip details — including driver name, vehicle number, and route — are shared with you before departure.
Jim Corbett National Park sits 260 kilometres northeast of Delhi, in the foothills of the Kumaon Himalayas in Uttarakhand. The park’s main entry and tourist hub is at Ramnagar — a small town at the southern edge of the reserve where most safari booking offices, jungle lodges, and resort complexes are concentrated. The drive from Delhi to Ramnagar takes between five and five and a half hours on a clear run, passing through Moradabad and along the Ramganga reservoir approach before reaching the forest boundary.
The timing of the journey matters more on this route than on most others. Jim Corbett’s safari zones — Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, and Sitabani — all operate on fixed morning and afternoon entry slots with gate closure times that do not flex. Travellers who arrive in Ramnagar after the afternoon zone closes have to wait until the following morning for their first safari. A departure from Delhi by 4:00 – 5:00 AM gets you to Ramnagar before 10:00 AM and in time for the afternoon session. Our drivers know this and plan the departure accordingly.
Delhi Cabz has been running the Delhi–Ramnagar corridor since 2010. We pick up from your door in Delhi, Noida, or Gurgaon, drive you to your lodge address, and coordinate departure timing around your safari booking so you do not waste a full day in transit.
Recommended Departure
An early departure from Delhi reaches Ramnagar before 10:00 AM — in time for the afternoon safari zone entry at most Corbett zones. Later departures risk missing the afternoon session entirely.
Safari Season
Most Corbett zones open November 15 and close June 15. Dhikala — the most sought-after zone — closes earlier in May. The monsoon (July–October) closes the core zones entirely. Jhirna and Dhela remain open year-round.
Pricing Structure
Your rate covers fuel and all highway tolls for the agreed route. Multi-day stays with daily chauffeur availability are priced as a package and confirmed before departure.
From your door in Delhi NCR to your jungle lodge at Ramnagar — here is what every booking covers.
01
Safari-Timed Departure
We plan your departure from Delhi NCR around your safari booking slot — not a generic morning time. If your afternoon zone entry closes at 2:30 PM, we work back from that to ensure you arrive with buffer time.
02
Named Driver, Confirmed in Advance
Your chauffeur is assigned and briefed before your trip. You receive the driver’s name, vehicle details, and contact number before departure — particularly important for very early morning starts.
03
Fixed Pricing, Fuel & Tolls Included
Your rate is agreed before departure and covers the full route to Ramnagar including all tolls. No additions at the end of the journey regardless of traffic or route adjustments.
Background-Verified Chauffeurs
All our drivers have undergone background verification and are experienced on the Delhi to Ramnagar corridor. Trip details are shared with you before departure — essential for early morning pickups.
Corbett has six safari zones, each with different access rules, tiger sighting probabilities, and seasonal availability. Knowing which zone your lodge is in affects your departure time from Delhi.
Dhikala Zone
The largest and most biodiverse zone in Corbett — highest tiger sighting probability. Access is restricted to guests staying inside the zone at the Forest Rest House. Requires booking months in advance through the forest department. Season: November 15 – May 15.
Bijrani Zone
The most popular day safari zone, accessible from Ramnagar. Good grassland and mixed forest terrain with strong tiger and elephant sighting records. Entry is by jeep safari with a fixed morning and afternoon slot. Season: October 15 – June 15.
Jhirna Zone
The only zone open year-round, including during the monsoon months. Denser forest than Bijrani with good leopard and sloth bear sightings alongside tigers. A reliable option if you are visiting outside the main season.
Dhela Zone
A newer zone added to the Corbett circuit, open year-round and located on the southern buffer. Less crowded than Bijrani and increasingly popular with wildlife photographers for its quieter approach roads and good morning light.
Sitabani Buffer Zone
Technically outside the core national park area, Sitabani is open without the standard safari booking permit requirement. Popular for nature walks alongside jeep safaris. Several well-regarded lodges sit within the Sitabani forest boundary.
Garjiya & Ramnagar Town
Garjiya Devi Temple on a rock in the Kosi River is a popular day visit from any Corbett lodge. Ramnagar town itself has the main safari permit booking counters, the Corbett Museum, and several restaurant options for the evening before an early morning safari start.
The Delhi–Ramnagar drive passes through Moradabad and into the Kumaon foothills. Here is
how the journey typically unfolds.
Departure
Early Morning Pickup — Delhi NCR
Most Corbett departures are 4:00 – 5:00 AM. Your chauffeur arrives at your door at the confirmed time — Delhi, Noida, or Gurgaon — and you are on the road before the city traffic builds. Early departure is non-negotiable for afternoon safari access.
Via NH-9
Through Moradabad — Midway Point
NH-9 runs northeast from Delhi through Ghaziabad and Moradabad — the halfway point at roughly 160 km. A 15-minute stop here for chai and a stretch is standard on this route. Your driver knows the right dhabas and keeps the break short so arrival timing stays on track.
Ramnagar Approach
Into the Kumaon Foothills
The final 80 km from Moradabad into Ramnagar runs through increasingly forested terrain. The road quality narrows in sections and requires a driver familiar with the approach. Your chauffeur knows the lodge access roads — many of which are unmarked on standard navigation apps.
Arrival
Ramnagar & Your Lodge Drop-Off
Arrival at your lodge or safari zone gate — timed around your afternoon entry slot. For multi-day stays, your chauffeur remains available for transfers between the lodge, safari gate, and Ramnagar town throughout your stay.
We structure every Delhi to Jim Corbett booking around your safari schedule and lodge arrangement.
A one-way transfer from Delhi to Ramnagar is the most straightforward booking. Share your pickup address, your lodge name, and your safari booking slot. We time the departure so you arrive at the forest gate before your entry window.
Pricing covers the one-way journey including fuel and all tolls to Ramnagar. Return travel can be booked separately — most guests arrange the return as a separate booking after confirming their checkout date at the lodge.

A two-night stay is the standard Corbett booking — one afternoon safari on arrival day, a full day with morning and afternoon safaris on day two, and departure on the morning of day three before the return drive to Delhi. This structure gives you the best chance of a tiger sighting across multiple zone sessions.
Your chauffeur stays in Ramnagar for the full duration and handles all transfers between your lodge, the safari zone gate, and any town errands. The return drive to Delhi is timed to avoid the worst of the evening traffic buildup outside Delhi.

Day 2

Day 3

Chauffeur
Available throughout, same driver
For travellers wanting to cover multiple safari zones — Bijrani, Dhikala, and Jhirna each offer a different terrain and wildlife experience — a three or four-night stay allows you to split days across zones without feeling rushed. Dhikala in particular requires an overnight inside the park and is best combined with external lodge nights before and after.
We structure the chauffeur arrangement around your full itinerary — zone gate timings, inter-lodge transfers if you are splitting nights, and the final return to Delhi timed to your preference.

Corporate teams booking jungle lodge offsites at Corbett regularly use us for group transport from Delhi NCR. We coordinate multi-vehicle departures from different Delhi, Noida, and Gurgaon addresses with synced arrival times at the lodge — one booking contact, GST-compliant invoicing, and a single invoice for the full group trip.
For large groups, we recommend Innova Crystas or SUVs over sedans for the final stretch of road into the forest boundary. The approach roads to several lodges are unpaved and benefit from higher ground clearance.

Everything travellers ask before booking this route — especially around safari timing and zone access.
We recommend departing Delhi by 4:00 – 5:00 AM. The drive to Ramnagar takes five to five and a half hours. Most afternoon safari zone entries open between 1:30 and 2:30 PM — arriving by 11:00 – 12:00 noon gives you time to check in, eat, and reach the gate on time. Later departures risk missing the afternoon session entirely.
Yes. We pick up from anywhere across Delhi NCR — Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, and Faridabad. For Noida pickups, the route via NH-9 through Ghaziabad is direct and avoids central Delhi entirely, which makes the drive slightly more efficient.
Dhikala has the highest tiger sighting probability but requires an overnight stay inside the park at the Forest Rest House, which must be booked months in advance. For day safari visitors, Bijrani is the most popular and accessible zone from Ramnagar. Jhirna and Dhela are open year-round and less crowded. The right zone depends on your booking, season, and how many days you have.
Not all zones. Bijrani opens October 15 and closes June 15. Dhikala opens November 15 and closes May 15. Jhirna and Dhela are open year-round, including during the monsoon. If you are visiting between July and October, only Jhirna and Dhela will be accessible for safaris.
Yes. Several lodges in the Corbett buffer zone — particularly those near Sitabani and the Dhela approach — are on unpaved or poorly marked roads that do not appear correctly on navigation apps. Our drivers are experienced on this route and know the lodge access roads directly, which avoids the confusion that catches first-time visitors to the area.
For the majority of lodges accessible from the main Ramnagar approach, a sedan or Innova Crysta is fine. For lodges in the buffer zone or along unpaved forest approach roads — particularly around Sitabani, Dhela, or the Marchula area — we recommend an Innova Crysta or SUV for ground clearance. Mention your lodge name when requesting a quote and we will confirm the right vehicle.
Yes. Your quoted price includes fuel and all highway tolls for the agreed route. There are no additions at the end of the journey. What we quote before departure is what you pay.
Ready to book
Share your safari booking zone, lodge name, travel dates, and pickup address and we will send a fixed quote timed around your entry slot within a few hours.
Combining destinations
Nainital is 65 km from Ramnagar and a natural addition to a Corbett trip. Rishikesh is 130 km via Kotdwar. If you want to combine both, we structure the full circuit as a single booking with the same chauffeur throughout.
