About This Route

India's Most Travelled
Cultural Circuit

The Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur — is India’s most visited travel circuit for a reason. Three cities, each distinct in character, connected by straightforward roads and covering the most concentrated collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in North India. The Taj Mahal in Agra. The forts and palaces of Jaipur. The monuments, markets, and history of Delhi. Most travellers who visit India for the first time come through this circuit.

What separates a good Golden Triangle trip from a rushed or frustrating one is almost never the destinations themselves — it is who is in the car with you and how the logistics are managed. A driver who knows the fastest approach to the Taj Mahal’s East Gate. A chauffeur who understands that the Amber Fort in Jaipur is best reached before 9:00 AM. Someone who handles the transition between cities without you having to coordinate a new driver at every stop. These are the details that accumulate over four to six days and determine how the trip actually feels.

Delhi Cabz has been running Golden Triangle circuits with private chauffeurs since 2010. One driver, one vehicle, one price — agreed before departure. We pick you up from your door in Delhi, Noida, or Gurgaon and return you to the same address at the end of the trip.

Recommended Duration

4 – 6 Days

Four days covers the core circuit at a reasonable pace. Five to six days allows more time at each city and the option to include Fatehpur Sikri near Agra or Ranthambore near Jaipur.

Best Season

October – March

North India’s cooler months make outdoor sightseeing at Agra Fort, Amber Fort, and Old Delhi comfortable. November through February is peak tourist season — book in advance.

The Journey

How the Circuit Unfolds

The Golden Triangle covers three cities across four to six days. Here is the typical sequence and what happens at each stop.

Day 1 — Delhi

Pickup & Delhi Sightseeing

Your chauffeur picks up from your door in Delhi, Noida, or Gurgaon. Day one typically covers Old Delhi — Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Red Fort — and New Delhi monuments. Your driver manages the route between sites throughout the day.

Day 2 — Delhi to Agra

Taj Mahal at Sunrise, Then Agra Fort

Early morning departure from Delhi — on the road by 5:00 AM via the Yamuna Expressway. Arrive at the Taj Mahal before the gates open. After the Taj, your driver moves you to Agra Fort and, if time allows, Fatehpur Sikri before the overnight in Agra.

Day 3 — Agra to Jaipur

The Agra–Jaipur Highway via Fatehpur Sikri

235 km from Agra to Jaipur via NH-21. Many travellers stop at Fatehpur Sikri en route — a 40 km detour that adds under an hour and is one of the most undervisited Mughal sites in India. Arrival in Jaipur for the evening.

Days 4–5 — Jaipur & Return

Jaipur Sightseeing & Return to Delhi

Amber Fort at sunrise, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and Nahargarh Fort. On the final day, your driver takes you back to Delhi via NH-48 — the same chauffeur who picked you up from your door on day one.

Key Sites Across the Three Cities

5 Highlights

Taj Mahal, Agra

The centrepiece of any Golden Triangle trip. Best at sunrise on day two — your driver departs Delhi by 5:00 AM so you arrive before the first tour buses. The light and the relative quiet of the first hour are genuinely different from any other time of day.

Amber Fort, Jaipur

Jaipur’s most impressive fort, best reached before 9:00 AM before the coach tours arrive. Your driver knows the approach road, the parking area, and how to sequence it alongside City Palace and Hawa Mahal for the best use of a full day.

Old Delhi — Chandni Chowk & Red Fort

The narrow lanes of Old Delhi and the Mughal-era Red Fort are best on day one, before the circuit begins. Your driver navigates the access roads and waits while you explore on foot — the only practical way to cover this area.

Fatehpur Sikri

A deserted Mughal capital 40 km from Agra, usually visited en route to Jaipur on day three. One of the most intact Mughal sites in India and significantly less crowded than the Taj Mahal. Worth the stop.

Nahargarh Fort, Jaipur

The best sunset viewpoint in Jaipur, overlooking the full Pink City. Your driver manages the hill road approach and waits at the top. A natural end to the last full day in Jaipur before the return drive to Delhi.

How to Book

Choose Your Golden Triangle
Duration & Route

The circuit can be structured across four, five, or six days depending on how much time you want at each city.

The four-day circuit is the most popular way to do the Golden Triangle. It covers the core highlights of all three cities without rushing — one full day in Delhi, a morning at the Taj Mahal and afternoon at Agra Fort, the drive to Jaipur, and a full day of Jaipur sightseeing before returning to Delhi.

This is the right structure if you have a fixed departure date and want to see the main sites at each city without extra nights. The pace is efficient but not frantic — you have enough time at each destination to feel like you have actually been there.

Day 1

Delhi sightseeing, overnight Delhi

Day 2

Delhi → Agra, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort

Day 3

Agra → Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri

Day 4

Jaipur sightseeing → return to Delhi

The five-day circuit adds one extra night — typically in Agra — which allows you to see the Taj Mahal at both sunrise and sunset on the same trip. It also gives more time for Fatehpur Sikri without having to rush through it en route to Jaipur.

This is the version most international travellers prefer. The additional day removes the feeling of moving too quickly and allows for meals, markets, and the kind of slower exploration that makes a trip memorable rather than just checked off.

Day 1

Delhi sightseeing, overnight Delhi

Day 2

Delhi → Agra, Taj at sunrise & sunset

Day 3

Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri → Jaipur

Days 4–5

Jaipur sightseeing → return to Delhi

The six-day circuit adds a full extra day in Jaipur, which opens up the option to include a day trip to Ranthambore National Park or the step wells and temples outside the city. It also allows for a more relaxed final morning in Jaipur before the return drive to Delhi.

This is the best option for families with children, travellers who prefer a slower pace, or those combining the Golden Triangle with a longer India itinerary who want to use the circuit as a relaxed opening.

Days 1–2

Delhi — two days sightseeing

Day 3

Delhi → Agra, Taj Mahal

Day 4

Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri → Jaipur

Days 5–6

Jaipur sightseeing → return to Delhi

The standard Golden Triangle can be extended or adjusted in several ways — adding Ranthambore National Park near Jaipur, continuing to Udaipur after Jaipur for a full Rajasthan circuit, or including Mathura and Vrindavan between Delhi and Agra for a spiritual detour.

If your itinerary does not fit neatly into the standard circuit, share your dates and preferred stops and we will structure the route and pricing around what you actually want to do.

Extension Option 1

Add Ranthambore from Jaipur

Extension Option 2

Continue to Udaipur or Jodhpur

Extension Option 3

Add Mathura & Vrindavan

Who We Drive

Travellers Who Book This Circuit

The Golden Triangle is our most comprehensive multi-day booking. Here is who travels it with us and how we structure it for them.

International Tourists

First-Time Visitors to India

The Golden Triangle is the most logical first India itinerary for international visitors. Our chauffeurs are experienced with foreign guests — English-speaking, no commission stops, and familiar with the practical questions first-time visitors have at each city.

Families

Families Travelling with Children

A private vehicle for the full circuit means you control the pace. Stop when you need to, skip sites that do not hold the children’s interest, and move between cities on a schedule that suits your group — not a fixed tour bus timetable.

Couples

Couples & Honeymooners

The Golden Triangle is a popular honeymoon itinerary for Indian and international couples. A private chauffeur means the Taj Mahal at sunrise is just the two of you — no group, no guide with a flag, no schedule you did not set yourself.

Groups

Group Travel & Tour Parties

We coordinate multi-vehicle Golden Triangle circuits for groups departing from different addresses in Delhi NCR. One itinerary, synced departures, and a single booking contact for the full trip regardless of group size.

Corporate

Corporate Delegations & Incentive Groups

Companies hosting international clients or incentive travel groups frequently use the Golden Triangle as a structured India itinerary. We provide GST-compliant invoicing, named chauffeurs, and professional vehicles for corporate-grade trips.

Extended Rajasthan

Travellers Continuing Beyond Jaipur

Many travellers use the Golden Triangle as the start of a longer Rajasthan circuit — continuing from Jaipur to Udaipur, Jodhpur, or Jaisalmer. We structure the full route as a single booking with the same chauffeur throughout.

Common Questions

Golden Triangle — FAQs

Everything travellers ask before booking the Golden Triangle circuit with us.

Most travellers do the Golden Triangle over four to six days. Four days covers the core highlights at a comfortable pace. Five or six days allows more time at each city and the option to include Fatehpur Sikri, Ranthambore, or a slower exploration of Jaipur’s old city.

Yes. One chauffeur stays with you for the full Golden Triangle circuit — from your door in Delhi NCR to the final return at the end of the trip. There are no driver handoffs between cities. The same person who picks you up on day one drops you home at the end.

The price covers your chauffeur for all intercity drives and daily sightseeing, fuel, and all highway tolls for the agreed route. Accommodation, monument entry fees, and meals are not included — we focus entirely on the ground transportation. Pricing is fixed and agreed before departure.

Yes. Fatehpur Sikri is 40 km from Agra and is typically visited en route to Jaipur on day three — it adds under an hour to the drive and is one of the most impressive Mughal sites in India. Ranthambore is 170 km from Jaipur and works as a day trip from Jaipur on a five or six-day circuit. Both can be added to your itinerary at the quoting stage.

Yes. We pick up from anywhere across Delhi NCR — Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, and Faridabad. For Noida pickups, the route to the Yamuna Expressway for Agra on day two is particularly direct. Just share your address when requesting a quote.

Yes. Many travellers continue from Jaipur to Udaipur, Jodhpur, or Jaisalmer at the end of the Golden Triangle. We structure the full Rajasthan circuit as a single booking with the same chauffeur throughout. Share your intended destinations and dates when requesting a quote.

For peak season travel — October through March — we recommend booking at least one to two weeks ahead. Multi-day circuits require more advance coordination than single-day trips. For travel at short notice, reach out directly and we will confirm what is available.
